SND Reading

After reading the article based on our school's foundresses, I got a big glimpse into more of what this school was built on, and represented. This school was founded by two women by the name of Julie Billiard and Francoise Blin de Bourbon. Julie had a condition called sclerosis. Francoise was upset with how bad things were around her at age 25. They both had played their separate parts in helping people before they had finally met in Amiens where the sister of Notre dame had been founded. These two women from completely separate lives but their thoughts together and decided to do what was right in the society. They decided to provide schooling for the poor and little girls. I also discovered that some of the buildings o campus are named after the places that our foundresses had been during the time they were living. I found that to be interesting. I didn't know too much about the school only that it was one of the first schools in California and that it used to be an all girls school but after reading this I now know much more.
